Surrogate baby Gammy 'improving', doctors say

A baby abandoned by his Australian parents because he has Down's Syndrome is improving in hospital, doctors say.

Gammy, now aged six months, was left with his surrogate mother in Thailand while the couple took his healthy sister home.

An online campaign, external has raised $185,000 (£110,000) to help treat Gammy, who has a congenital heart condition and a lung infection as well as Down's syndrome.

His surrogate mother, Pattaramon Chanbua, has told reporters she was advised of Gammy's condition three months after his parents were told.
