Imran Khan: 'I will stay here until Nawaz Sharif resigns'

The former Pakistan cricketer Imran Khan has told a rally of supporters that they should stay on the streets of the capital until the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif resigns.

Thousands of protesters have gathered in Pakistan's capital Islamabad after arriving in big convoys from Lahore.

Rally leaders Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri demanded that Mr Sharif step down, alleging rigging in the 2013 elections.

Mr Khan, who heads the opposition Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf party, claimed he had received a death threat.
