China welcomes Zimbabwe's Mugabe

China has given the Zimbabwean president a warm reception on his five day visit there.

Robert Mugabe was hoping to secure a number of trade deals to help boost his country's struggling economy.

Mr Mugabe was greeted with a 21-gun salute,

Mr Xi calling him "an old friend of the Chinese people whom we respect very much".
