Abdul Sattar Edhi: A life dedicated to helping others

Sixty years ago, Abdul Sattar Edhi gave up everything to start a charitable organisation, dedicated to improving the lives of the poor in Pakistan.

The Edhi Foundation is now the country's largest welfare organisation - it runs schools, hospitals and ambulance services across the country, often plugging gaps in services which the state simply fails to provide.
