Hong Kong pro-democracy protesters 'tired but defiant'

There has been continuing unrest in Hong Kong as thousands of pro-democracy campaigners continue their stand off with riot police in the central and financial districts of the city.

The crowds have been largely ignoring warnings from the authorities that their demonstrations are illegal.

Protesters are angry at Chinese government plans to vet candidates in Hong Kong's 2017 elections.
