Nepal blizzards and avalanches claim many lives

Freak snowstorms and a number of avalanches in the Himalayas, in Nepal, have killed at least 26 trekkers and three farmers.

Authorities are still trying to make contact with at least 100 other trekkers believed to be caught in blizzards in one the deadliest spells of bad weather the region has ever seen.
