Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe calls snap election

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has called a snap election for the middle of December.

He has only been in office for two years, but the Japanese economy recently fell back into recession.

He also announced plans to postpone an increase in the sales tax to help fight deflation.
