Taiwan elections: China policy test for Kuomintang party

Voters in Taiwan are going to the polls in the island's biggest ever local election.

Nearly 20,000 candidates are running for more than 11,000 posts across nine levels of government.

The elections are widely seen as a referendum on the China policy of President Ma and the ruling Kuomintang party.

Cindy Sui reports from Taipei.
