North Korea calls for US and South Korea to end 'war games'

South Korea has announced its annual military exercises with the United States will start on 2 March.

North Korea calls them "exercises of war", but the government in Seoul says they are just defensive in nature.

In the past, they have led to a surge in tensions, with Pyongyang threatening pre-emptive nuclear strikes and attacks on South Korean and US targets.
