Is Modi's budget 'India's chance to fly'?

India's finance minister, Arun Jaitley, has been presenting the government of Narendra Modi's first full budget.

Mr Modi's BJP party came to power last year promising to revive the economy. Official figures forecast growth of more than 8% in India in the next year.

Corporate tax rates will be cut to 25% over the next four years and spending on infrastructure will be raised by $11bn to boost growth.

The government is promising to simplify India's complex tax system and there is a proposal for a universal social security system for all Indians.
