Vanuatu president: Cyclone Pam is 'a monster'

The President of Vanuatu, Baldwin Lonsdale, has described Cyclone Pam, which has devastated his country, as a "monster".

Mr Lonsdale confirmed he had declared a state of emergency in the island nation.

He explained that there were still significant problems with telecommunications but they were working on getting it back up and running.
