Nepal earthquake: Teenager pulled alive from rubble

Rescuers in the Nepalese capital Kathmandu have rescued a teenage boy alive, almost five days after the devastating earthquake.

He survived in an air pocket under tonnes of rubble. Crowds cheered as he was brought out blinking into the daylight before he was taken to hospital.

Officials now say more than 5,500 people are known to have died across Nepal.

BBC 5 live's Nick Garnett reports from Kathmandu.
