Tianjin blasts: 'It's like a ghost town'

The Chinese authorities have ordered the evacuation of residents within a 3km radius of the Tianjin blast site over fears of chemical contamination.

At least 104 people are reported to have died in the giant blasts in the north-east Chinese port on Wednesday.

Roy Keld, a mechanical engineer originally from Sedgefield, lives close to the exclusion zone but has moved to a hotel further away with his family.

He returned home on Saturday and described the suburb of Binhai where the blast occurred as "like a ghost town".
