New Zealand flag vote: Red Peak added to shortlist
A fifth design has been added to New Zealand's referendum on a new flag, after tens of thousands of people signed a petition.
Red Flag, designed by Wellington resident Aaron Dustin, failed to make the final four for the competition but was included after tens of thousands of people signed a petition backing it.
But it is not without its critics, with the deputy leader of the conservative New Zealand First party, Ron Mark, saying it resembled the design painted on Nazi sentry boxes.
The first vote, on which of the five designs is the winner, will be held from 20 November - 11 December 2015, with a second referendum on whether or not to replace the current flag with the winner taking place 3 -24 March 2016.
