'I didn't delete the pictures so I can see her every day'

The human consequences of South Korea's attitude to birth outside marriage and adoption are keenly felt by young mother 'Jiyoun' (not her real name) from Seoul.

She became pregnant - but when her boyfriend left, she had to go through the agonising decision of whether to try to keep her child or give it away for adoption.

After going through many suicidal moments, she decided to give her daughter away.

"I think of her often, but I try not to think of her. I still have her pictures on my mobile phone. I didn't delete them so I can see her every day. Each time I see the pictures, I miss her."
