Using 'numbers game' to cut Delhi pollution

More than a million cars have been forced off the streets of the Indian capital, Delhi, at the start of a two-week trial to help clean up one of the world's most smog-shrouded cities.

Only vehicles with licence plates ending in an even numbers are allowed on the roads on a given day - and odd-numbered vehicle number plates on the next day.

Police say most people are respecting the new rules.
