Why Lanny Cordola is teacher Afghan girls to play the guitar

A group of Afghan street children from Kabul are learning to play the guitar in an unusual project meant to give them a better future.

The school was set up by US guitarist Lanny Cordola after he heard of the death of six children killed in a suicide bombing in 2012.

The younger sister of two of the victims was one of the first to join, but the project now teaches 50 young girls music as well as English.

In a flat in the Afghan capital, the budding musicians learn songs from artists like Coldplay and Bob Marley; or as Lanny Cordola puts it: "songs of peace and hope.".
