Seoul police officer's sorrow over Halloween crush

A police officer who was working in the Itaewon district of Seoul on the evening a crowd surge killed at least 156 people has expressed regret over the tragedy.

Video footage shared on social media appeared to show Baek-gyeom Kim on his own struggling to control the crowds.

Assistant Inspector Baek-gyeom Kim told the BBC: "I don't feel I did my best."

He expressed sympathy with the "heartbroken" families of those who died.
