China National People's Congress set to open in Beijing

China's National People's Congress is set to open in Beijing, beginning the final stage of the country's once-in-a-decade leadership change.

The key event will be the "work report" from outgoing Premier Wen Jiabao, which is expected to focus on the economy.

The Congress, China's parliament, will also see Xi Jinping complete his transition to president, taking over from Hu Jintao.

Martin Patience reports from Beijing.
