China pipe baby case 'an accident' - officials

Officials in China say they are treating the case of a baby boy rescued from a sewage pipe as an accident.

The baby, who received minor cuts and bruises during his ordeal, has been released from hospital into the care of his grandparents.

His 22-year-old mother, who has not been named, said the baby slipped into the toilet and went down the pipe by accident as she gave birth.

The case has sparked a debate about childcare in China.
