Giant pufferfish tower sparks debate in China

A giant Chinese viewing tower, built in the shape of a giant pufferfish, has sparked debate on Chinese social media.

The monument, erected for a horticultural exhibition, measures 90 metres from nose to tail- which is around the same height as the Statue of Liberty.

But at a cost of approximately £7m ($11.4m), many have criticised it for being an example of extravagant state spending.

Paul Collins reports.
