Hong Kong student protests: Thousands 'fight for democracy'

Thousands of students in Hong Kong have been protesting against plans by the Chinese government to restrict democratic elections.

It comes after Beijing announced last month that candidates for the city's leadership would be vetted.

Protesters say promises made to Hong Kong at the time of the handover in 1997 are being broken.

But Beijing says western-style democracy would bring chaos to Hong Kong.
