The long and emotional journey home

For many migrant workers Chinese New Year is the only chance to go home and see their families.

China is expected to handle 2.9 billion journeys this year.

Xu Xifei and his wife have worked in a shoe factory 1,000 km (miles) from their hometown for more than 10 years.

The BBC accompanied them as they made the long journey home, this time for good.
