'Left behind children': The Chinese families living far apart

Chinese authorities have launched a national census to try to put the first accurate figure on one of the country's most pressing social challenges - "left behind" children.

The best estimates suggest that more than 60 million children are growing up in the countryside while their parents live and work many miles away in the big cities.
