India strikes over commerce and fuel reforms

Opposition parties and trade unions in India have been demonstrating over plans to open the country's retail sector to global companies such as Walmart and Tesco.

The government says the planned reforms are essential to revive a slowing economy, but small business owners fear they will forced out of business.

Protests will also take place over a significant rise in diesel prices.
