Water cannon used against gang rape protesters in India

Another protest against the gang rape of a woman last week, has turned violent, as Indian police used batons, tear gas and water cannon to turn back thousands of people marching on the presidential palace.

The demonstrators were demanding better security for women and the death penalty for those accused of raping the 23-year-old victim, who is still fighting for life in hospital.
