Indian cricketers arrested over spot-fixing allegations

Three Indian cricketers have been arrested over allegations of spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL), police say.

The players belong to the Rajasthan Royals team and have been identified as S Sreesanth, Ankeet Chavan and Ajit Chandila by the team boss, Raghu Iyer.

The team said it had "a zero-tolerance approach", while India's cricket board has suspended the three.

Delhi police chief Neeraj Kumar said officers have been present at all matches in case "signals" were given while TV coverage was showing commercial breaks.

He added that the force had been suspicious for some time, but had "waited for a situation in which all three of them could be pinned down."
