Rahul Gandhi preparing for return to politics

Novelist Salman Rushdie once described the Nehru-Gandhi family as a "dynasty to rival Dynasty, in a Delhi to rival Dallas."

The family's power came from its three generation long hold on the Congress Party, until just over a year ago the biggest political party in India.

Rahul Gandhi led his party to its worst performance in May 2014's general election, and he took a leave of absence in February this year.

With Mr Gandhi due to return to politics on 19 April, can he save Congress or is India's greatest political soap opera finally coming to an end?

Justin Rowlatt reports.
