India brigadier: 'I lost seven of my boys in the battle'

India has announced grand plans to celebrate the 50th anniversary of its "win" over Pakistan in the 1965 war with a series of events, including a "victory carnival".

The celebrations are set to kick off on 28 August, the day Indian troops captured the strategic Haji Pir Pass, and will conclude on 22 September - the day the neighbours agreed to a UN-sponsored ceasefire, according to the Indian defence ministry.

Brig (retired) Arvinder Singh was a young major in the Indian army at the time of the war and among the soldiers who conquered the Haji Pir Pass.
