Dozens die in China bridge collapse amid flooding

News has emerged of a bridge collapse in China's Henan province on Saturday in which 33 people died. Up to 21 other are still missing.

Local government officials said that the water in the river under the bridge was usually less than a metre high but the area had been lashed by the heaviest rain in 100 years.

Disasters caused by the bad weather in China in recent weeks have left more than 1,250 people dead or missing.
