Japn quake: Fukushima situation 'severe' says TEPCO

The Japanese authorities have stepped up their efforts to stabilise the Fukushima nuclear power plant, which has been crippled by the earthquake and tsunami.

The Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO) , which runs the Fukishima plant , said an accident management plan was being followed and everything was being done to try to stabilise the situation.
