Japan earthquake: 'Many people' are leaving Tokyo

Residents and foreign nationals are evacuating Tokyo as concern over food and fuel supplies, as well as a damaged nuclear plant continue.

Britain and France have issued advice to consider leaving the area and are supplying extra planes for evacuation flights.

Japan says it is stepping up efforts to cool overheating fuel at the tsunami-hit Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, but as the BBC's Roland Buerk reports, there are signs of unease amongst residents of Tokyo.
