Australian police on Bali Nine criticism: 'We had incomplete picture'

The head of the Australian Federal Police has responded to criticism of their role in the events which led to the executions of two Australian drug traffickers in Indonesia.

Myuran Sukumaran and Andrew Chan were part of the so-called Bali Nine group.

Australian police tipped off their Indonesian counterparts in 2005 about their plot to smuggle 8.3kg (18lb) of heroin from Bali to Australia.

Commissioner Andrew Colvin denied claims that his force bore some responsibility for their fate.
