Volunteers drive through Russian wildfires

Volunteers travelling to help people protect their homes from approaching forest fires got too close for comfort to the blaze.

The four men were driving in the Nizhny Novgorod region in western Russia when their vehicle was surrounded by flames, forcing them to reverse to find a clear route away from the fires.

Hundreds of wildfires are still raging across a vast area east and south of Moscow amid a record heatwave.
