Kosovo state edges forward slowly

Kosovo is hoping that more countries will recognise its independence, prompted by a recent ruling that its 2008 break away from Serbia was not illegal.

But Kosovo faces huge problems, including resistance from its ethnic Serb minority, corruption and a heavy reliance on international assistance.

So can it emerge as a functional state?
