Breakthrough for longest rail tunnel - Switzerland's Gotthard

The final breakthrough on what will be the world's longest rail tunnel is due to take place in Switzerland.

The new Gotthard tunnel is expected to revolutionise transport across Europe's north-south axis, and protect the alpine environment by moving freight from road to rail.
