Sarkozy to crackdown on French pension reform strikes

President Sarkozy has vowed to crack down on pension reform protests which have been sweeping France bringing much of the country to a halt.

Strikes by transport workers and a week-long blockade of the country's oil refineries are causing travel chaos.

Around 2,500 petrol stations are shut, flights have been cancelled and train services disrupted.
