Amanda Knox 'pleads for mercy' in court appeal

An American woman convicted of murdering the British student, Meredith Kercher, is to continue her attempt to have her conviction overturned.

Amanda Knox was found guilty of murder along with her boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, in Italy in 2007.

The BBC's Duncan Kennedy said the defence will attempt to challenge the DNA evidence and introduce new witness testimony.
