Nato Secretary General: 'We must protect Libyan civilians'

Nato Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen says the alliance is committed to providing all necessary resources for military operations in Libya.

Mr Rasmussen told a foreign ministers' summit that Nato would continue "day by day, strike by strike" to target forces loyal to Col Muammar Gaddafi.

"All of us agree we have a responsibility to protect Libyan civilians against a brutal dictator," he said.
