Chernobyl reactor cover funds sought at conference

An international conference and summit in Ukraine will seek to raise funds to cover the cost of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, 25 years on.

The concrete and steel sarcophagus around the damaged reactor is ageing badly, and it is hoped the conference will raise $1bn (£600m) to finance a replacement structure.

The summit and conference coincides with an exhibition of photographs from the region, taken by acclaimed German photographer Gerd Ludwig.
