Fighting prejudice against divorce in Malta

Malta is one of only three countries where divorce is outlawed but on Saturday the country is holding a referendum on the matter.

The Mediterranean country is overwhelmingly Roman Catholic and the poll has sparked a furious row between those who want change and those who see marriage as an institution for life.

Ramona Frendo cohabits with her married partner and the couple have a child together.

Ms Frendo told BBC News about the discrimination she had faced as a result of her relationship with a man separated from another woman.
