Ratko Mladic: 'I defended my country'
Ex-Bosnian Serb army head Ratko Mladic has refused to enter a plea during his first appearance at the International Tribunal at The Hague, saying he needed two months to read through the charges of genocide and crimes against humanity made against him.
General Mladic described himself as a gravely ill man and called the charges "monstrous" saying he was just defending his country.
The court said Mr Mladic had thirty days to review the documents of charges made against him before returning to the court on 4 July.
