Clapping protesters 'arrested' in Belarus

Human rights groups in Belarus say the authorities have arrested more than 200 people for taking part in street protests against President Aleksander Lukashenko.

Reports say the demonstrations, which had been organised on social networking sites, took place in several towns and cities across Belarus.

Witnesses in the capital, Minsk, saw participants being rounded up and taken away in unmarked cars and buses.
