Pope visits Spain on World Youth Day

Pope Benedict XVI is visiting the Spanish capital Madrid where he is to meet young people on World Youth Day 2011.

A number of people were arrested on Wednesday when protesters staged a rally to voice their anger at the cost of his visit.

The trip comes at a time of economic hardship in Spain, although organisers say it is self-funded.
