Kercher murder trial: Knox and Sollecito cleared

An Italian appeals court has overturned the murder convictions of American Amanda Knox and Italian Raffaele Sollecito, jailed for the killing of UK student Meredith Kercher in 2007.

The pair were cleared after doubts were raised over procedures used to gather DNA evidence.

Miss Knox is expected to fly back to the US on Tuesday. The BBC's Luisa Baldini reports from Perugia.
