Euro debt crisis: Greece joining in 2001 'a mistake'

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has said he believes it was wrong to allow Greece into the euro in 2001, saying the country's economic figures did not add up.

Mr Sarkozy said Greece had not been "ready" at the time, but that it could be rescued following Wednesday's deal on the euro debt crisis.
