Nicolas Sarkozy: 'Never has Europe been in more danger'

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has warned that Europe has never been in more danger as he prepares to join the region's leaders for a summit in Brussels.

He said that "never has the risk of Europe's disintegration been so great. Europe is faced with an extremely dangerous situation."

He said the eurozone economies still had a few weeks to decide on a plan forward, but that time was working against them.

The talks in Brussels are described by analysts as "do-or-die" for the eurozone nations.
