Concordia captain 'disturbed and heartbroken', says lawyer

Captain Francesco Schettino is under house arrest, accused of causing the Costa Concordia cruise ship to capsize off the Tuscan coast on Friday.

Speaking at a news conference, his lawyer Bruno Leporatti defended his client, saying he was affected by the loss of life.

"The captain is disturbed and heartbroken by what has happened," he said.
