French elections: Rivals in feisty TV debate

Tempers flared in France during the only televised election debate between the two presidential contenders, with both accusing the other of lying.

Polls suggest the conservative President Nicolas Sarkozy trails his socialist rival, Francois Hollande, by around six points.
