Wes Anderson's Moonrise Kingdom opens Cannes Film Festival

Bruce Willis and Bill Murray were amongst the stars on the red carpet for the opening of the Cannes Film Festival.

The two actors both feature in the opening film by US director Wes Anderson.

Moonrise Kingdom is one of 22 movies selected to compete for the festival's biggest prize, the Palme d'Or.

However, the celebrations have been marred by criticism that no female directors will be in competition.
